The Lagos State Government has recommended that Queen
College delays its resumption till appropriate measures are taken to ensure the
safety of the students.
According to the state Commissioner for Health, Dr.
Jide Idris, the recommendation is necessary to ensure that all the sources of
contaminants in the school which had been causing the death of students are
properly handled.

“Water samples from six sources in the school premises
were collected and analysed at Drug Quality Control Laboratory of Lagos State
Ministry of Health at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.
Another water samples from 10 sources were also collected and analysed at the
Microbiology Department of LUTH, Idi-Araba.”
