Mrs. Frances Marsalis and Mrs. Louise Thaden being greeted after alighting from their plane at Roosevelt Field, Long Island, New York, on August 22, 1932, when they set a new women's endurance flight record with 196 hours, 6 minutes in the air eclipsing by far the old record of 123 hours set in 1931 by Bobby Trout and Edna May Cooper.
