More women
are being diagnosed today with heart disease and associated ailments due to smoking,
dangerous weight-loss practices and unhealthy diet. , a medical study claims.
Data released by city-based National Heart Institute (NHI) says the number of
women patients admitted to the institute has gone up by 10 per cent in the span
of last five years.
From the NHI study which lasted for the period June 1, 2012 to August 10, 2016 among
1, 20,444 patients,
it discovered that In these five years, there has been a 10 per cent increase
in heart disease and associated illnesses among women and 28 per cent increase
in people below 40 years.
