A cricketer in
Bangladesh was killed by a stump-wielding batsman and according to the news, the
16 years old Babul Shikdar was wicketkeeping during a neighborhood match with
friends in the capital Dhaka on Wednesday when the batsman was given out.
The wicketkeeper
suggested the umpire might again favour the batsman by declaring the bowler's
delivery a no-ball, allowing him to remain at the crease, after the umpire made
the same ruling off the previous ball.
This angered the
batsman who picked up a stump and hit Shikdar on the head. He collapsed on the
field and died on the way while taking him to a clinic, the local police Chief
Bhuiyan Mahboob Hasan confirmed the incident.
The batsman who
fled the scene and police were on search for him.
