Customs killing: Victim’s  wife gets N1m from Ogun govt 


The Ogun State government yesterday donated N1 million to the family of Saubana Koleosho, a car driver the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) allegedly shot dead on March 8, 2017.

The NCS officials allegedly killed Koleosho while pursuing him for carrying 25 bags of rice along the Kobape road in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state. Daily trust report.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, who made the donation on behalf of the state government at the Itokun area family house of the deceased, said the money was to take care of some of the immediate needs of the wife and the four children of the slain driver.


Adeoluwa seized the occasion to disclose that the state government was still in search of the culprits behind the shooting, in which two other people were also injured.

“I can assure you that we will not rest until the perpetrators of the killing are brought to book.
He said for now, the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has decided that you should be given this amount to take care of your immediate needs,” Adeoluwa said.

Responding, the widow, Mrs. Zainab Koleosho, thanked the state government for the gesture and appealed for further assistance for the education of her four children.
