A special education
teacher with a South Austin elementary school has been accused of biting a
student, according to an affidavit from the Austin Police Department.
According to
KUVE.COM Officers were dispatched to Cook Elementary School on March 6 where
the assistant principal told responding officers that a 9-year-old student was
bitten by Courtney Nikole Williams, a special education teacher.
When officers spoke
with Williams, she said she took the student outside of a classroom because she
was being disruptive.
William said she was standing behind the
student when she said started to push her left arm up. According to Williams,
the student's arm made contact with her nose and mouth area and at that
particular moment she had her mouth open to tell the student to stop resisting
and that's when she closed her mouth on the victim's arm.
A school
counselor who spoke with police said she heard a scream and looked through the
conference room door. She said she could hear the student screaming, "You
bite me, you bite me."
Based on
evidence, police have charged her with injury to a child.
