YVONNE NELSON |
My first post on this blog site that is
created to celebrating women that have impacted so much in the life of people,
Africa and the world is the popular Ghanaian Actress YVONNE NELSON. This is a lady that I love and admire so much not
just because of her beauty, talent, intelligent, courage, brave to mention a
few but because of her achievements and positive impact she has made worldwide.
She is a Ghanaian actress, model, film
producer, entrepreneur and former Miss Ghana contestant
Yvonne Nelson is from Cape Coast but was
born in Accra.
With the exposure from the beauty
pageant, she won a two-year contract as face of Maxim Cosmetics, and landed a
role in the TV series Fortune Island, where her acting career began. Her
first lead role was the title character in the movie Princess Tyra..
Since then, she has filmed close to a hundred movies in Nigeria, Ghana, and
Ivory Coast.
She founded the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation in 2010 to help create awareness about the disease. With support from other Ghanaian celebrities, she recorded an all-star charity single, and shot a video to help educate people.

She followed
these up with House of Gold in 2013.

In
2009, she was named Joy Fm Nite with the Stars Best Actress. In 2010, she was

market. At the time, the wigs were very new in Ghana. As part of her efforts to
give back to society, she launched the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation in
2010 to educate the public on the harmful effects of the eye ailment.
YVONNE
NELSON “THE GREAT LIONESS”
Yes she is
indeed a lioness. Her fight for DumsorMustStop
tells that indeed she is a lioness, super woman and a warrior. Not everyone can
fight for one person talk less of fighting for the comfort of a nation that is
the masses especially the poor ones. I am
very sure that Yvonne can afford the best generating set that can supply power
for twenty four hours a day for her household but she thought of the comfort of
others and went into fight against unstable power supply in Ghana. She led a
peaceful vigil on May 16, 2015, called DumsorMustStop. The hashtag
#dumsormuststop is currently used on social media to amplify the concerns of
Ghanaians with regards to the energy crisis. She also headed the group for the
campaign #dumsormuststop with other celebrities accompanying her.
