A 46, years old woman was attacked by a crocodile during a night swim in Australia’s Daintree National Park on Sunday evening. According to the news, it was reported that the woman was swimming with her friend at Thornton Beach near Cairns in north Queensland when the attack occurred. According to the media reports, the woman was in waist-deep water when she was attacked by a crocodile. All efforts by her friend to rescue her were not successful so she went and notify the authorities and police.
It was also reported that witnesses heard the woman shouting that a crocodile got her during the time of the attack.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corp, the last attack in the area occurred in 2009.
Search for the missing woman with the help of a rescue helicopter, resumed on Monday, while her friend is being treated for shock she got during the incident
Residents told Australian media that the area was a known crocodile habitat.
local MP Warren Entsch said the area was known for crocodile-spotting tours and there were many warning signs. He told reporters that it is a tragedy but it was avoidable, that if someone goes in swimming at 10 o'clock at night, the person will be consumed by a crocodile
AFP news agency also said that Crocodiles are common in Australia's tropical north and kill an average of two people each year.
so sorry for her. if she had known, she wouldn't have gone near the area in the first place.
